The scene in
92
Yes, the year is over, so now let's
take a look back.
The
productions
--------------------------------------
What can be easily noticed, is that
quality demos were released only on
parties. It is very fortunate that so
many parties were held, but I think
coders should consider releasing NICE
demos between parties, and keep the
scene alive. I know that if you work
hard on a production you want some
money from it, but that is what will
ruin the scene. Lots of demos are
released on parties, and that's good,
but please release stuffs other times,
too! Here are the most successful
demos of 1992, in chronological order:
Cat by Crionics & TSL - Denmark
D.O.S. by Andromeda - Norway
Multica by Andromeda - Norway
Wayfarer by Spaceballs - Norway
Humantarget by Melon Dezign - France
Optimum Fuckup by Sanity - Germany
Guardian Dragon 2 by Kefrens - Denmark
S.O.S. by Melon Dezign - Denmark
Point Blank by Andromeda - Norway
In the kitchen by Anarchy - Denmark
Sound Vision by Reflect - Finland
Flower Power by Anarchy - Germany
Static Chaos by The Silents - Germany
Wicked Sensation by TRSI - Germany
State of the Art by Spaceballs - Norw.
-D Demo 2 by Anarchy - Denmark
Comments:
- Where the hell is Sweden??!!
- All demos were released on a party.
- The demos didn't develop as much as
in '91. The magic word behind all is
DESIGN!
File demos were released every day, so
packs are very useful contrary to some
mag writers' opinion.

There were really nice pieces of
slideshows and musicdisks released:
Musicdisks
Crystal Symphonies 2 by Phenomena -
Sweden
Legalize it 1 and 2 by Anarchy -
England
Multimegamix 2 and 3 by Kefrens -
Denmark
Slides
Mirror by Andromeda - Norway
Color Crime by X-Trade - Germany
Museum by Alcatraz - Co-op.
Focused on Art byAnarchy - Holland
Forgotten by Mirage - Holland
Masterpieces by Kefrens - Denmark
Prism byMelon Dezign - France

Comments:
- These productions really show the
big development in Amiga gfx and
music.
- It is simply amazing what artists
can draw, but why always dragons,
heros and other nasties?
- Lots of techno musicdisks were
released, but none of them became
famous. The most of the famous ones
feature love & jazz songs.
The biggest boom was in the diskmag
scene. Lots of the big ones died,
like Zine or Hack-Mag. But this
didn't shocked the scene because more
and more mags were produced, already
existing mags were developed a lot, so
the competition and the excitement did
grow a lot. And anyone can say what
he wants, but this is good for sure!
The Zine mania became a RAW mania, but
other mags like Stolen Data or McDisk
are standing the competition. The
mags of '92 were:
RAW by PMC - Norway
Stolen Data by Anarchy - Various
McDisk by Alcatraz - Germany
Top Secret by Majic 12 - Denmark
Maggy by Complex - Finland
Magbox by Balance - Denmark
Grapevine by LSD - England
Other promising mags were:
Eternal by Rebels - Turkey
Sl***e Ha***r by A*******! - Hu****y
The great message centers were:
Chit Chat by Mirage - Holland
Message Center by Addonic- Switzerland
LIVE by TSB - France
And of course we mustn't forget about
the fab Eurochart with the new
publishers: Static Bytes.
All in all, 1992 wasn't bad at all
(what a rhyme!). The mag scene is
better than ever, so keep supporting.
The other prods were very nice, but
again, releasing only on parties will
ruin the scene.
